Lowland Leader Assessment

About Lowland Leader Assessment

This two (2) day (16 hour) assessment will measure your competencies against the Lowland Leader syllabus. On successful completion of the assessment, you’ll be qualified to lead groups in the varied and beautiful lowland areas of the UK and Ireland.
As approved Mountain Training providers with a proven track record, we know how to set you up for success. Led by our experienced trainers, you’ll be part of small groups of upto 4 people. This 1:4 ratio allows us to personalise your experience and give you the best chance of successfully completing your assessment.

Prerequisites for the Lowland Leader Assessment

  • Completed a Lowland Leader training course (or have been granted exemption)
  • Logged a minimum of 20 walks in lowland countryside in different types of terrain (woodland, coastal, farmland etc)
  • Have physically (i.e. not online) attended and completed a first aid course which involved at least two full days or sixteen hours of instruction and included an element of assessment
  • Before you attend an assessment, you will also need to complete a ‘Home Paper’ to complete in your own time
