Developed by Mountain Training and delivered by Mountainsandmoors’ skilled trainers, this 3-day course takes place in several beautiful UK locations in small, personalised groups.
This training is for anyone who wants to learn effective group leadership in the UK and Ireland’s beautiful and unpredictable hill and moorland areas. Operating in terrain that is generally more remote than that used by Lowland Leaders and not as steep or rocky as ground covered by Mountain Leaders, Hill and Moorland training is ideal for Duke of Edinburgh leaders, scout leaders and volunteer staff, and opens up a natural pathway for anyone wishing to lead and work with others in the outdoors.
You’ll need to be aged 18 or over and have at least a year’s worth of experience of hill walking. You’ll also need to join either the British Mountaineering Council, Mountaineering Scotland or Mountaineering Ireland if you’re not already a member. If you’re not sure whether your experience is sufficient, get in touch with the Mountains and Moore team and we’d be happy to guide you.
Spending three (3) days in some of the UK’s most beautiful landscapes, Mountainsandmoor’s qualified trainers will guide you through everything you need to know to confidently and safely lead in hill and moorland areas, including:
You’ll be part of a small learning group of upto six (6) people, ensuring a personalised, fun and friendly learning experience. Training is run in Eryri (Snowdonia), Peak District and the Yorkshire Dales.
