First Aid at Work Course

This course meets the full HSE requirements for the statutory FAW (First Aid at Work) Qualification. Learners will attend three 6 hours of practical trainer-led training days. This course can be delivered at your place of work in groups of up to 12 learners.

This course is ideally suited to workplaces where a risk assessment has identified the need for staff to possess appropriate first aid skills and knowledge.

Who is this course most suitable for?

All higher-risk workplaces that have identified a need for comprehensive first aid e.g. light engineering and assembly work, food processing, warehousing, extensive work with dangerous machinery or sharp instruments, construction, chemical manufacture.

Our 3-day First Aid at Work course covers the following subjects:

  • Roles & Responsibilities of the First Aider
  • Assessing an Emergency Situation & Prioritising Action
  • Unresponsive Casualty (Not Breathing)
  • Unresponsive Casualty (Breathing)
  • Choking
  • Seizures
  • Infection Prevention
  • Severe Bleeding
  • Shock (including internal bleeding)
  • Burns
  • Minor Injuries
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Fractures & Dislocations
  • Spinal Injuries
  • Further Wounds & Bleeding

First aid at work – Blended Learning

2 days practical with at home eLearning

A unique First Aid at Work course using blended learning. This course meets the full HSE requirements and enables staff to complete two practical trainer-led days with an at-home self-study e-learning programme. The 6 hours of e-learning must be completed before the final practical day so all areas of content can be assessed in person by our qualified trainers and assessors.

This course is ideally suited to workplaces where a risk assessment has identified the need for staff to possess appropriate first aid skills and knowledge.

Face-to-Face (Day 1)

  • Assessing an Emergency Situation & Prioritising Action

  • Defibrillator
  • Choking adult
  • Seizures

  • Severe Bleeding
  • Shock and Internal Bleeding

eLearning (Day 2)

Please note, eLearning must be completed after day 1 and before day 3.
