We recently came across an article that highlights the benefits of combining the NNAS (National Navigation Award Scheme) Bronze Award with the DofE (Duke of Edinburgh) Bronze expedition. A Scottish school used this approach to help students build their navigation skills with greater confidence. By focusing on map reading and navigation before the full expedition, students were more engaged, better equipped, and less reliant on just one individual to lead the group.
